Very fast growing in heat, the large, attractive leaves can be used in salads, stir-fries, soups or other dishes. A single leaf can cover a slice of bread in a sandwich and is used like lettuce. The leaves are tender when raw but turn slimy if overcooked. They are very high in nutrition. |

Carrot
Autum King Vita Longa |
||
|
This is one of the largest of carrots and last to mature, however we grow these sown thinly in a wide 6” row and use the younger plants early on and through the season. This way we do not need to thin the carrots other than by regular cropping. This is a very healthy and vigorous carrot with the potential to be the highest yielding of all. “Autumn King Vita Longa” is the best variety. Can also be left in the ground without splitting through the winter. |

This stunning purple coloured cauliflower is a great improvement on the older purple types. The colour intensifies with exposure to light, so this eliminates the need to protect the curds. A sweet distinct flavour and stunning as a raw crudite, stir-fried or steamed. The purple colour is due to Anthocyanins - a good source of antioxidants. This cauliflower earned the RHS Award of Garden Merit. |
